Top Tips for leaving a review

When leaving a review, try to imagine what you would want to know about a company or an experience yourself. Here our some tips to get you started:

  • Tell us about your experience, not that of a friend or family member – users want to hear about your personal interaction with the company
  • Try to ensure that your review is factually correct as other users will appreciate your honest opinions. Please don't embellish your story for effect
  • It’s good to be passionate, but please avoid using profanity, threats, or personal insults
  • Avoid promoting other suppliers as part of your review – you can always check to see if the other company is listed on PartySharty and add content to their dedicated listing
  • Please don’t post full names of other people or publicise private information, this includes e-mail addresses or phone numbers
  • Don't forget what you agreed to when you signed up. If you have forgotten, shame on you... but you can always refer back to our T&Cs page

Why not tell us about…

  • The responsiveness of the supplier
  • Professionalism
  • Quality of the service they provided – what did you like the most / least?
  • Pricing and value for money
  • Whether you book them again or recommend them to others
  • Your advice to someone who is looking for a company/individual that provides this service
How do I see which companies I've already reviewed?

When you login to your user account, you can click on the 'Your Reviews' button on the right hand side of the page.

Can I edit or delete a review I have previously written?

We would prefer for you to keep your comments as they are to reflect your experiences at the time of writing. For that reason you cannot edit an old review but if you'd like us to delete it altogether, simply contact us and we'll be happy to remove it.

Can I create a list of Favourite companies and how do I view them?

Yes and it's easy to do so when you are logged in - on every company's page, there is an option to 'Add to Favourites.' You will find this next to the company details on the right hand side of the page.

To view your full list of saved companies per category, click on the My Dashboard button at the top of any page and you will see the Favourite Companies link from your dashboard.

How can I contact a company listed on PartySharty?

You can send an e-mail to companies via PartySharty in two ways:

Contact a single company - once you have found a company you want to get in touch with, you will find a Send A Message button on the right-hand side of the page, under their logo.

Contact mutiple companies in one go - when you are browsing within a category or region, from the Search Results, you can check the Send Message box for every company you wish to contact then at the bottom of the page select the Send Message button. The same message will be sent to all companies you have selected so remember not to direct your message to one specific company.

How can I view which companies I have already sent a message to?

Once logged in, select Messages from the dashboard menu and you will see all the messages you have previously sent to companies along with the date you sent them on.

Remember that any company replies will have been sent to the e-mail address you gave us when you signed up. You can always change this by editing your profile details.

Why should I 'like' or 'dislike' a review?

By liking or disliking a particular review you are helping to validate the credibility of the review.

  • A review which lots of people have 'liked' (the thumbs up icon) suggests that people tend to agree with the review.
  • A review which lots of people have 'disliked' (the thumbs down icon) suggests that the review may be out of character for that supplier.

I'm unhappy with a review that has been left for my company, what can I do?

How can I deal with negative reviews?

Inevitably, you will occasionally come across a dissatisfied customer so you’ll need to give them an outlet for their unhappiness before they make it public. For example, provide them with an email address or phone number so that they can get in touch with you directly rather than make their opinions public. You should make it a rule to contact unhappy customers as users can leave additional reviews for you in the future.

Remember, lots of positive reviews will outweigh the importance of negative ones, which leads us on to …

Top tips on responding to negative reviews

  • Be prompt. By responding quickly, you will be able to show that good customer service is important to you.
  • Take a polite approach. Do add your perspective to the comments made, but also keep in mind that your response will be visible for all to read. Unprofessional or defensive comments will be viewed negatively by prospective clients.
  • All feedback is useful, so take a moment to thank the reviewer (even if you do not agree with their comments). Tell them how your service might have changed as a result of their comments, so that future customers can see your response

Please note that companies can only respond to reviews via PartySharty if subscribed to our Professional Listing package.

How should I deal with positive reiews?

It's a great feeling when somebody gives you good feedback. It's important to acknowledge this to encourage more users to do the same.

Top tips on responding to positive reviews

  • Thank the reviewer for taking the time to share their experience, This shows that you value your customers comments and act upon feedback.
  • Aim to personalise your response by highlighting any particularly positive comments that the reviewer has made. This will also help reiterate your strongest selling points to prospective clients.
  • Avoid using the same standard reply for every response, as this can come across less genuine
How can I view messages that users have sent me?

Users can contact you directly from our site, and the e-mails will go directly to the address which you have supplied to us.

How can I draw attention to the best reviews on my listing?

You can choose a review to appear on your listing so that it is the first review that users will see. Simply select 'Reviews About Your Company' from your Dashboard and click on the Featured button next to the review of your choice. The button will turn green and to de-activate the Featured review simply click on it again. Please also see our top tips on how to minimise negative reviews and increase positive reviews.
